The Journey That Changed the Way I See Life

I'm a traveller, a curious soul and someone who believes that some of life's most valuable lessons begin when we step outside what we know.

In 2022, I made a decision that changed my life. I sold my house, my car and many of the things I owned, left my job and set off to explore the world on my own. It wasn't about having everything figured out. It was about listening to something inside me that was telling me there was more to discover.

So I went.

I travelled through incredible landscapes, immersed myself in different cultures, met people from all walks of life and found myself in situations I could never have planned for. From the vast deserts of Mongolia to the mountains of Central Asia, the spiritual atmosphere of India and the unexpected beauty of everyday encounters, every experience added something to my journey.

But the most important discoveries weren't always about the places I visited. They were about myself.

Learning to trust myself. Finding calm in uncertainty. Becoming comfortable with the unknown. Discovering how much I was capable of when I had to figure things out on my own.

Solo travel taught me that you don't need to control everything to be okay. Sometimes, you just need to trust yourself enough to take the next step.

It also made me more aware of my surroundings, other people and my own intuition. I began noticing details I might once have overlooked, paying closer attention to how situations felt and becoming more adaptable when things didn't go as planned.

Life After the Journey

Today, in 2026, I'm back in the Netherlands, where I've been living for the past three years.

Coming home doesn't mean the journey is over. In many ways, it means learning how to carry everything you've discovered into everyday life.

The experiences, the challenges, the people and the moments of uncertainty are still part of who I am. They continue to shape how I see the world, how I make decisions and what I believe is important in life.

I don't believe you have to travel the world to find yourself. But I do believe that exposing yourself to different cultures, unfamiliar situations and new perspectives can change the way you understand yourself and the world around you.

Why Travelhart?

I created Travelhart to share more than destinations and travel itineraries.

I want to share the real experiences behind the beautiful photographs: the unexpected detours, the difficult moments, the lessons, the connections and the little things that stay with you long after you've returned home.

I also want to encourage others, especially those who are young and wondering whether they should take the leap, to give themselves permission to explore.

You don't need to have the perfect plan. You don't need to know exactly who you are or where you're going. And you don't have to wait until everything feels safe and certain.

Start where you are. Be curious. Take a chance on yourself.

Because the world has so much to teach us, and sometimes the greatest adventure is discovering what happens when you trust yourself enough to begin.

Travel far. Stay curious. Trust your heart.

Love,
Jocelyn
